achilles tear

I received an interesting e-mail the other day I thought I would share to help anyone else with an Achilles tendon injury ~Ed

“Hi Ed, I have a question for you. I’m a recreational runner who is wanting to return to running after suffering an Achilles injury. I usually run on a treadmill, but have been thinking about running outside. Any thoughts on which may be better? Thanks L.T”

Yes, there is a difference. Treadmill running has been shown to load the Achilles tendon significantly more than over-ground running. Therefore, outdoor trail running or track running would be a better choice at this time. Let me know how your return to running is going,
