S.M.A.R.T. Health & Fitness goal setting ideas. Goal setting for health and fitness is crucial . As a Physical Therapist, I’m always asking what goals my clients have for their rehab and health in general. However, if the goals are S.M.A.R.T. they are much more effective and likely to actually get done.
S- specific. Instead of “get stronger” it would be something like “do 10 pull ups in 1 month.
M- make sure the goal is measurable
A- action plan ” I will work out 3 days a week to increase upper body strength for pull ups
R- relevant. Is the goal relevant to my “big picture”. Will doing 10 pull ups make me stronger? Yes it will!
T- Time bound. Make sure you put a time frame on the goal to keep you on track
Keep the SMART principle in mind the next time you set your fitness goals,
